After Lark create beautiful music for voice and fretless and acoustic bass guitars. Their aim is to push back the boundaries of the roles of the voice and bass, making the two instruments equal partners in the duo.

After Lark play their own songs and mixed up jazz standards.

Formed in the Autumn of 2011 after playing together at a local pub acoustic night. Kait and Becky then went on to do their first performance just three weeks later at the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey. Since then they have performed in and around the South West region, playing at places such as the Avon and Somerset Music Train, Bath, the Hatchet Inn, Bristol, St Peters Church, Marlborough and the The Bear Inn, Devizes.

 

Becky white has played the bass for  years, focusing on expanding the role of the instrument and using it in new and unusual ways. She plays jazz and folk, is a multi-instrumentalist also playing trombone, and is trained as a community musician and music therapist.

 

Kait Lee is a virtuoso singer, who has studied both classical and jazz voice and completed an honours degree in performance arts. She has over 20 years experience as a performer, arranger and vocal coach, and is the director of a cappella sextet 'Mothers Jam'.
